The Return of a Classic! The Tiger Katana from Hanwei is a nostalgic reissue of the original (SH1204) folded steel katana made in the early 2000s. The specifications are painstakingly reproduced for accuracy. The 29 3/4" K120C powder steel blade is differentially tempered with a traditional claying method to the grain pattern (hada) showing distinct layers. The temper line (hamon) is evident and prominent. The blade features a groove (bo-hi) on both sides. The tsuba is made from blackened iron depicting a "stalking tiger" inlaid in brass. The ray skin (same) is covered on the handle (tsuka) with Japanese Cotton. The saya is deeply lacquered in black and inlaid with brass bamboo leaves. The Tiger Elite Katana features a hand forged and folded Performance Series katana blade and some of the finest fittings available.  Designed for multiple cuts in normal targets,  the Tiger Elite Katana is equally at home as a cutting blade or showpiece.  The K120C powder steel blade makes for superior edge holding and cutting ability.  The koshirae are crafted in blackened bronze and detailed in gold.  The blackened iron tsuba features a ‘stalking tiger’ motif.  The tsuka features the finest quality (rayskin,) while the tsuka-ito and sageo are woven in premium Japanese cotton.
